My 9 year old has been swinging a 29 inch Easton Reflex that is advertized as a drop -13 and is, in fact, a little less that 16 1/2 ounces. This bat at the same length, and drop -12 weighs a tick over 18 1/2 ounces. To me, that's a drop -11 or even -10. I think that he can adjust and it's not a bad thing if he can swing a heavier bat with reasonable bat speed but I was thinking that I would take him up a little slower than 2+ ounces. On a plus note, when he connects with this bat, he is getting some fantastic pop. The bat looks great and appears to be nicely made. |
